The word of God is literally God. Scripture uses two words for it. Logos is the whole written Word, and the living Word, Jesus Christ. Rhema is God's word, spoken to you. Specific, personal, alive in your exact situation. The verse that finds you. The written word, heard.
When the angel told Mary she would carry the Son of God, he said, "No word (rhema) from God will ever fail" (Luke 1:37). Her answer to an impossible situation: "May it be to me according to your word (rhema)" (Luke 1:38). Mary heard the word and received it. And the Word became flesh (John 1:14). Our Savior, from the spoken word.
And Paul writes, "Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word (rhema) of God" (Romans 10:17).
That this music fills your heart, soul, mind and living space with the living word. Which is sharper than any two-edged sword, dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow, "judging the thoughts and attitudes of the heart" (Hebrews 4:12). Which will protect you from the enemy: Jesus answered the devil three times with "It is written," and the devil left him (Matthew 4:10-11).
